Its been a while.
Some of you may remember this cube. I forgetforget what the last update i did was. 2017 saw JDM mirrors, headlights and sunvisors as well as a Kaminari carbon fiber hood. Some new wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza Re71s, more tire than the car needs and a crash. Got rear ended by some girl who wasn’t paying attention. Nearly totaled the car with 6 grand in damage. It’s no longer seeing daily duty though, that’s the job of the Corolla behind it. Picked that up for 5 grand, put some wheels and tires on it (had three different tires when i bought it, 2 new Starfire RSCs, a Ecopia and a rotted potenza). The fiance got me a Evo X spoiler to satisfy my big wing needs and my best friend got me new headlights as cleaning the oem ones did nothing anymore. Both cars are basically straightpiped as well.
I’m hoping to take the cube to some NJ autocrosses this year, it’ll probably not end up in a stock class but it’ll be fun to compete with some other modded econoboxes at least.
And for those who remember the rear driver door damage, no that still hasn’t been fixed. It’s on the list.

Autocrossing a cube, that is not something I have seen before bit would be by far my favorite car if I saw it at an event. Definitely try going to a South jersey event. I believe it’s a bit far from you but that car would fit right in with that crowd lol. You would surely be loved and adored there plus events are cheap and I like the wild courses they put together. Is there a rollover risk though? I don’t think the center of gravity is high enough to worry but who knows.

If it were stock maybe but it’s lowered 2 inches on springs and by the start of autocross season should be sitting on coilovers and a hair lower. I’ll have to look into south jersey though, I’m only aware of the SCCA events at the meadowlands.

Those are good quality events at met life, it’s always a challenging course and well run. Plus quote competitive and you get a decent amount of runs usually. I just disliked the cost there and I’m not really into being competitive. I knew that South jersey was the place for me when one event had a brake box challenge at the end just for shits and giggles. So much less serious about rules and junk
